Dimensions, materials and specifications on this site are the figures the maker publishes for that product. Where a listing publishes no figure, our page says so rather than filling the gap. If a number matters to your job, email us before you order and we will confirm it.

What a deterrent does

A physical deterrent removes the landing: a spike strip, netting or a gel makes a surface unusable to a bird or a climbing animal. That is what these products do and it is why we sell mostly those. Nothing here is guaranteed to remove all activity from a site, and a determined animal will use whatever you leave uncovered.

The sound and visual products work differently. They make a space feel unsafe, and animals can get used to anything that never actually harms them. Both listings say the same thing, and so do we: use them as part of a wider plan rather than on their own.

Fitting

Everything we sell is fitted by the customer. Most of it goes on a parapet, a roof edge, a gutter lip or a fence top, so the work is often at height. Working safely is your responsibility, and if the site needs scaffolding or a licensed contractor, get one.

Wildlife and buildings

Nothing we sell is designed to injure an animal, and the products are chosen for that. Even so, rules on protected species, on nesting seasons and on what may be fixed to a listed or historic building vary by state and by locality, and checking them is your responsibility before you fit anything.
